Barry Ford plays "Uncle Joe" Cannon, Republican Speaker of the House and Dr. Howe in the film A Single Woman.
Barry is an actor, singer, dancer and writer who has appeared in night clubs, theater, radio, TV and films in Paris, New York and Hollywood. In the 60's he was, as he says in jest, "Hollywood's favorite Nazi" using his German in TV shows like Rat Patrol and Combat and films Tobruk and Von Ryan's Express. In 2005, after many years as a NYC stage and daytime TV actor, Barry returned to Los Angeles to resume his film career. Recent film work includes a sympathetic role in the soon-to-be-released feature Dark Reel plus major roles in two short films, Willie Mays And The Emptiness and The System, both of which have been submitted to Sundance '08. Recent LA theater: Rev. Harper in Arsenic And Old Lace at the Lonny Chapman Group Repertory Theater and A Providential Occurrence at Hollywood's Complex Theater, playing President Quincy Laurence. A bit of a linguist, Barry enjoys friendships in several countries. A California State University graduate, he studies acting with Milton Katselas at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.
