John Wilson is the composer of the music for the film A Single Woman.
As a session and touring bassist growing up in the 90’s in the San Fransisco Bay Area, Johnny has toured, composed for and performed with many artists ( Tower of Power, Doobie Brothers, Too Short, Tupac Shakur, Del the Homosapien, No Doubt, Gary Shider, Gary ‘Mudbone’ Cooper, George Clinton, The Hieroglyphics Ensemble, Counting Crowes, Digital Underground to name a few) and for many major record labels (Warner Bros., Atlantic, Interscope). He is an alumni of California College of Arts where he studied film and video production with a minor in performance with Sydney Carson (Nightletter Theater).
Johnny relocated to LA in 2003 to dedicate his time to composing music for film. As a composer his films have been shown at Tribeca, Cannes, Chicago, San Diego, SXSW, Locarno and Los Angeles film festivals. He has composed music for countless film and TV trailers as well as national TV add campaigns (South Park, Girlfriends, Bombardier, Rondezview). Johnny plays 4, 5, and 6 string basses, 4 and 5 string double bass, 6 and 12 string guitar as well as piano and keyboards. He owns and operates a recording facility that is dedicated to all elements of musical production. From complete musical scores to ADR and Voiceover. His studios are located in downtown LA while residing in Hollywood CA.
