Julie plays the role of Carrie Chapman Catt in the film A Single Woman.
Acting has been a beloved but occasional part of my life—especially character roles—Mrs. Malaprop, Moon in “Blood Wedding,” Soothsayer as a bag woman—so that Carrie Chapman Catt slipped right into that category. “A Single Woman” has been close to my heart since it’s beginning. In fact, “A Single Woman” was first read in our living room. I was also the costumer for the stage production. So it was exciting to be part of the making of the movie. A Midwesterner at heart—Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois—I now live in Reno, Nevada with my husband, John. We have three grown children and two grandchildren.
